I'm interested in any information at this point. If that starts an 
interesting conversation on HTML standards I guess we can all educate 
ourselves at once.

Yes, this is what sparked me off. TBH I never liked <font> tags in the first 
place - they seem very contrary to the idea that HTML is a Markup language 
and another way for smart designers to  force the web to do their bidding. I 
rather like the semi-random nature of how one's pages are viewed, so long as 
they are properly marked up they should remain meaningful in any format.

Because most WYSIWYG editors are an aberration from hell. IMHO.
