You can save some Knoppix files - if need be, save to floppy disk?

If you have an html file / html files - copy to a floppy when you're
booted into Windows - then use the Knoppix disk to read the floppy.

Yes, of course. Knoppix can mount a filesystem formatted under Windows.
[You may have potential problems with Windows NT/2000/XP if the
filesystem is the NTFS.]

Is this from the laptop? You may find that connecting from Knoppix
is slightly harder. Since most things under Knoppix are effectively
done as "root", it may be advisable to look carefully before connecting
to the net as root.

You may be able to set up Windows and Linux to share the same hard disk.
[A bit like running your Volvo on petrol / LPG. You can't run both at
the same time and have to make a choice of one or the other - but the
basic car remains the same.]

Talk it over with Martin / Sean on list or with me. Martin and Sean
are both local and can provide you with advice and installation help.

You may need to keep Windows for some things: try and make a list of
the sorts of things you want to use Linux for/want to try under Linux
and give that to Sean/Martin - if you have a good idea of what you want
to do, it'll give you all a basis to be going on with.

All the best,

Andy
