Not sure on this you can upgrade but you have to be careful i lost
pcmcia on the laptop when i upgraded. i use knoppix hd install every
day, 
only a couple of issues on a single partition install and it did not set
up the webcam access nor did it do the digital camera. 

My pay to look at memphis as this is more multimedia that knoppix
