I have encountered boards which, having had a pci vga card in use, refuse
to see the agp card under any circumstances no matter what the "Init
Display first" setting is in the BIOS. Urrgh. Sometimes I find myself
playing "Mr Potato Head" with a whole roomful of components, mobos etc
until I have a machine that functions as required.

But I tell you - we have Windows (all versions), Netware and Linux
running on server and desktop and I can honestly say that Linux is the
only one that happily accomodates whatever hardware combination I throw
it at. It also never inflicts that unique Windows trap of installing
happily but crashing solid on use.
