Well, there is ports, man ports and cd /usr/ports and read the README.
It compiles things from source and makes packages out of them. Do keep
it up to date and I would actually recommend moving the machine to linux
if you dont know how to admin it. There are a lot of intricacies that
would be best taken care of well, starting services the *bsd way is fun
if you arent used to it...there has been a recent local root vuln in
BSD, so update asap. If you have any *bsd questions, feel free to mail
me off list, or onlist if people dont mind, I have been admining *bsd
for a long time now. --Gabe
