Anyhow, Guillemot MaxiSound Fortissimo is what the sound card box says -
which runs the Yamaha YMF744 audio processor.

All of this works, except for the digital optical output, at least
according to my mini-disc - it sees no signal.

So, is there anything special that needs to be done to activate this
feature?
