I disagree ... I regard the use of "<rant> & </rant> (or RANT ON/OFF or
anything similar) as shouting or a put down (in this case directed at me)
... with hindsight (and in a calmer atmosphere) I may well concede there
was value to his comments (in fact my have implicitly so conceded publicly
or privately) however the content of such message may well get lost when
people direct comments at me in such a manner.
When that happens I may well be offended reserve the right to defend
myself.

No ... I simply do this out of habit ... I debate religion & atheism in
other forums and have learned to protect myself against evangelists who
love to quote out of context things they claim you or others have said!

You may have the last words ... as long as those words say or imply "OK"!
Until then I'll continue to defend myself against what I perceive to be
unwarranted attacks!
It's also worth noting that Peter would probably like this subject dropped
as well ... unfortunately I don't have the luxury of telepathy as do you :
