Not really. GUI apps for AIX/Solaris tend to be X apps, and as such are
easily portable to free OS's. MacOS X GUI apps share very little with
them. Apple grabbed the BSD kernel because it had become obvious that
they couldn't write their own in the timeframe neccesary - the
non-kernel level stuff is much further from Unix than Solaris or AIX.
