Suse email server is a nice boxed package, and I'd happily recommend it.
However, people who don't like the price tag should be aware that it's
just a Linux box running OpenLDAP, Cyrus IMAPD, and an MTA (sendmail?).
All the components are free, and it's not that hard to roll your own if
you want to. I'm using exactly that setup for home and work (though I've
not integrated LDAP (yet)). I've even written web pages on how to do it
