Or our "Service Centre" in Santiago who sent me an MS Word ecapsulated
Windows screen scrape of an error message from a *text* application
running on Unix in a VT emulator, without mentioning in the email that
there was an attachment. So when I read it using a text mail client (not
a standard one - this is a proprietary email system running on MVS) I
had no idea the attachment was there and complained that she hadn't told
me what the error was.
When she called me and explained, and read out the two words from the
error which told me what it meant, and I remonstrated that she could
have just cut and pasted the text into an email she was unable to
understand what I meant (and this was not a language problem, her
English is fine, indeed speaking good English is a requirement for our
Service Centre staff worldwide. It seems that having a technical clue is
not).
Regards, Ian
