There was (during the Mac UI lawsuit era) --- but slap bang in the
middle of that NeXT contributed the Objective C frontend, and Apple are
definitely back in the loop now (thanks in no small part to Stan Shebs,
ex-Apple, ex-NeXT, ex-Cygnus and now back at Apple again).
