Yes it's possible to pick up a IBM 330 p133 for £35, actually not sure
if the p133 has USB I have a P166 that I got for £25 with no hdd. Try
http://www.chuckaduck.co.uk/ this guy gets lots of these, I have bought
some bits and pieces off him, seems very helpful.

One thing to be aware of with the USB slug is getting a board that can
supply enough current to it, apparently some have problems. On the
smoothwall list some have mentioned kernel panics that were fixed buy
using a PCI card. Note I'm not using the P166 mentioned above for my
firewall (smoothwall at the moment) and haven't tested it so don't know
if the onboard USB are ok or not. I had already fixed up an old p75 and
fitted it with a PCI USB card for this job, this is working very well
with smoothwall.

Haven't been on the list for a long time so interested to look over the
discussions in the archive re smoothwall/firewalls Tet referenced. I'm
currently on the smoothwall list and just amazed at the attitude that
comes out of the people involved with the project, this does put me off
and the fact that it's a B'd to find any real documentation other than
"click on this button" pdf type stuff.

Steve.
