i have two personal faves:
Cafe Emm of Frith street in soho.  very good value for money given the area.
always packed on friday / saturday.  if you get there after 6, expect to
stand arround outside waiting to get in for 30-45 mins.  earlier in the day is
much better.  expect to pay 10-15 per person.  i have *never ever* left there
feeling hungry.  recommend the deep fried brie for starter.  or was that 
camabert?  oh, and you cant reserve tables either.  did i mention the smoked
salmon crepe's?  mmmmm.

the other, is the favourite haunt of the east end london linux user group:
The Spice, on Brick lane.  Regulat member of eellug always get spotted and
given great service.  great if you like curry.  i'm surprised our team mascot
(dean) hasnt mentioned it yet.
