[Gllug] Using a proxy for everything

Hi

The uni I work at has just turned rearaged their networks so that all out 
going traffic has to go through a proxy. The have a load balancing dns system 
setup so each nslookup on proxy1 get a different IP.

Is there any way of getting Linux to use this proxy for telnet/ftp and ssh. 
I've been told that the proxy1 will let any traffic out regardless of type.
