That is definatly true, it snowballs. When manufacturers see users using
linux as a result of the manufacturer supporting linux by either
developing drivers for linux or by tossing documentation at linux geeks
to write drivers, it motivates them to give more linux support. Well
generally it works more like they get more sales by supporting linux,
more sales=more money. However I don't know if anybody else has noticed
this but what i'm finding is the quality of devices i use under linux
can be so much better than under evil_os. I found this with my
webcam, the quality is pretty sucky under windows. in fact it sucks. But
under linux its very very good. Same goes for my scanner, sound card,
and cd-writer. Users are beginning to spot this as well.

Its a two way relationship. The more support the manufacturer gets by
linux users adopting their product, the more support they give the user.
Manufacturers, IMHO are also noticing the fact that linux users give
them less hassle than j.random windows user in terms of support.

Anyway just my £0.02

On the subject of support. What are peoples opinions of the likes of
mandrake-expert? I was reading the artical in one of the linux
magazines today and it looks quite interesting.
