>From a technical standpoint that is true (supposedly).
Ogg has a better "pyscho-acoustic" model than mp3 so
it should sound better. I think independent tests have
proved this - but maybe not conclusively.

The reason that I use it is that it is unencumbered by
patents and is free as in free speech.

A disadvantage of ogg is that it is slower to encode a
file than some of the mp3 encoders.
