[Gllug] AGP 4x

Simon,

The G400 does not support AGP 4x - that is the reason why. It is a 1x card
- released before the 2x spec came out (hence the 2x compatible - i.e. it
will work in 2x boards at 1x)

Check on the Matrox Users forum for more details - www.matroxusers.com

Hope that helps,

Richie

My crankin' new computer and video card combo support AGP at 4x
speed. It's set that way in the BIOS, agpgart is loaded (needed to
use the option agp_try_unsupported=1) but when I start up X it uses it
at 1x speed.

(**) MGA(0): Chipset: "mgag400"
(==) MGA(0): Using AGP 1x mode

The config file specifies 4x:
Section "Device"
        Identifier "Generic Video Card"
        Driver "mga"
        ChipSet "mgag400"
        Card "Matrox Millennium G400"
        Option "AGPMode4x"
EndSection

Any ideas how to get it to play nice?
