no you dont need to specify an interface, thats all taken care of by the routing
tables. altho, one thing that has perplexed me, that i admitedly havent tried
to work out yet, is multicast addresses. when you add a multicast network
route, it is bound to an interface. so im not sure how you could:
# ping 224.0.0.[12]
across multiple interfaces. can anyone clarify this for me?
