Erm - surely an easier solution than taking a soldering iron to the PSU
board is to just get a chocolate block connector, and join the cables for
the fan like that?  There certainly is enough space within the PSU to do
this, and I regularly do this just to swap out a fan.

Just my 2p worth :)

fans are quite expensice to buy standalone, but certainly cheeper
than a whole PSU.

taking the thing apart is easy. be sure to properly solder and
insulate the new fan wires. And check which way it rotates and
the facing of the blade curves BEFORE you take it apart.

most electronics hobby shops will have these fans.
