The thing that concerns me about this is that it allows M$ to be more fleet footed. It
will be able to roll out new features to most/many desktops in a short space of time.
OK: for bug fixes, but it also allows it to introduce new obscured/incompatible file formats
& protocols with great rapidity.

M$ is probably pissed off that the Samba team & similar adapt to their latest attempts at
incompatability quite quickly, this will let it run faster in the computer version of
hide & seek.
