That's quite neat. I play bass (for various interpretations of play)
and to get this slightly back on-topic, I used to experiment quite a
bit with effects software under Linux. (http://strony4.wp.pl/wp/maciomp/)
It makes some quite fun noises.  Sadly I don't really get the time to
play with such toys these days.
