I've heard this so many times from various people, and yet *still* don't
understand. What do you mean by having two C: drives? Windows won't assign
the same drive letter to multiple partitions. All it means is that when
you boot into one Windows isntance, the other will appear as D: (for
example). I've never had a problem with this (and at one point, I had
3 different versions of Windows on the same disk). You can't generally
run apps from the non-booted instance, because the paths are wrong
(looking for C:, rather than D: or whatever it happens to be), but other
than that, I haven't had any problems.

Disclaimer: I haven't used Windows in anger in many, many years
(thankfully), so things may have changed since then. The above setup
was with Win3.1, Win95, and NT3.51. My only current use for Windows
is to play Serious Sam. As soon as Wine is good enough to run that
(and it's definitely heading in the right direction), my Windows
partition can die for good...

Agreed. Get ftp://icaftp.epfl.ch/pub/linux/local/lilo/lilo-21.tar.gz
and type make in the docs directory. Werner's documentation is
stunning, and rather than just documenting LILO itself, it gives
a great insight into the arcane world of PC booting.
