Not to the extent of adding comments, all I have ever done is add and remove the 
X.  I can't remember how the file was generated originaly unfortunatly.

I removed the smbpasswd file and then added the two users again, using smbpasswd 
-a.  Both the entries now have the X but the 'will' user still works.  Not 
tested the 'user1' user as I didn't have time.
