I have both the USB and serial cables.  USB works under 'doze (although 
hotsync crashes frequently) but I figured the serial connection under Linux 
would be the easier option.  Unfortunately my PCMCIA modem uses the same IRQ3 
that the serial port wants so I have a problem.   If you know of any 
Linux-USB-Palm web links, I would be very grateful.  Otherwise I shall do as 
you advise and head back to Google.
