I have fallen in love with fluxbox (fluxbox.sf.net) -- it's a scad bigger
than blackbox (500k on disk), tiny memory footprint:

x-window-manager

supports WindowMaker dockapps, has better gnome/kde hinting support, and
does all kinds of funkiness.
Yum.
