UltraSCI 160 is better than firewire however it costs a hell of a lot 
more.

LaCie recently released a 400GB Firewire drive (actually 2 drives in an 
enclosed chassis) which may be of interest.

Before it is possible to offer a properly informed opinion it would be 
necessary to know what kind of video editing you mean. For simple cut and 
paste management of video clips you can probably get away with simply 
beefing up the servers storage subsystem and the local network.

If you are doing any rendering as well you may have to consider 
properly designing a lab for that.
