[Gllug] Newbie asks: how to learn?

Read Neal Stephenson's "In the beginning was the command line". 
(http://www.cryptonomicon.com/beginning.html) A hilarious perspective on 
the world you have just entered.  You  will embarrass yourself reading 
this on the Tube, by laughing uncontrollably at Linux humor and GNU 
philosophy.  It has kept me going whenever I felt like packing Linux in 
and settling for M$.

I've found this group to be incredibly helpful, inspiring, and humorous. 
 You are fortunate to have discovered it so early  in  your travels!
