[Gllug] RAID 1 and RAID 5

Does anyone know if I can convert a Raid 1 device to a RAID 5 array by 
changing the raidtab from 1 to 5 and adding a failed device.

I am trying to do a hotadd and expand the raid 1 setup.

In short will I kill my data? :-)
