I am using Plusnet through a SMC ADSL modem / router combo. It is the
SMC7401 I think, works fine for me although took a bit to set it up first
time due to BT.
The router has a USB port and ethernet port that can be used at the same
time. I have mine connected via ethernet to a SuSE box acting as a firewall
and mail server. This then connects to a wireless router with a built in 3
port hub so the laptop and a couple of desktops can connect.
