Further follow-up to the LDAP talk: if you're running Potato then you 
only have access to an older version of openldap that does LDAP v2.  If 
you want v3 then go here:

You'll find potato-ised sources and binaries for libldap2, openldap 2.2, 
cyrus-sasl and (nice bonus) postfix patched to do LDAP lookups.
