[Gllug] IPSec over wireless network

If I were to set up IPSec over a wireless link to make my wireless network
secure, I assume I should firewall all non-ipsec traffic.  What would you
have to leave open for the IPSec to work?  
I realise that the two endpoint of the IPSec tunnel need to be able to talk
to each other across a normal network so does that mean that I have to
leave all the ports unfiltered on these two computers?
