We enjoy the pleasures of Groupwise, a program whose sole area of
strength over MS Outlook is that it doesn't get targetted with
nearly so many virii.

I generally just hack away at the text until it looks right (and,
hopefully, gives enough of the context to carry on the discussion
without being weighed down with more quote than content). 

Normally I just suffer the limited editor available as part of the
Groupwise client; sometimes (such as now) I'll copy and paste into
one of my text tools (primarily Vim 6.0) at present) and then paste
back when I'm done
