It's not what you want, nay way off topic.
You can get NT boxes to use the syslog daemon on Unix boxes -
ie. you can get Event Log messages apearing on a central 
Unix syslog server.
The OReilly book on NT systems management has a section on this.
There are one or two free utilities to do this.

Not much use to you Wulf, as I assume that you are dealing with some
other sort of logfiles?
