Again it comes back to the agent. :) The employer would probably prefer a
normal format, but the agent is the one who needs the word-format doc - they
tell me that their systems are set up to file the CVs in their database only
in word format.
The other day I got an interview confirmation which was the only thing that
had the address of the place I had to go to and, yes, the agent decided that
instead of just mailing me the details, it would look more formal if he was
to create a word document in the form of a snail-mail letter with the
interview confirmation:

Some 4167% the size of the equivalent text file.
