Hi,
After what seems an age I managed to get Linux on my venerable old thinkpad
760ED. I did it by using a pcmcia boot disk from deadRat 6.2.& FTP the rest
18hours worth for 800Mb I did try SuSe who required a minimum of 50+Mb of
RAM for the same task & refused to go on with less. Debian Potato said yup we
can do that provided you supply some parameters for the Xircon pcmcia card
tulip driver I gave it what windows had used for memory & irq which it
promptly spat out & refused to go further.

Has anybody else got a tried & proven method of net (internet/ local ) using
a distro with floppy / pcmcia access only.
 TIA

to all who chucked in their 2c on PHP & MySQL thanks but I passed the buck
which means I can actually go and browse the books you recomended rather than
ordering blind Thanks again.
