I'm using emacs on the console, complete with syntax
highlighting. Versions prior to Emacs 21 (I think) didn't do it, but
mine certainly does:

sms at lauren:~/work/lateral/lateral_tng$ emacs --version
GNU Emacs 21.2.1
Copyright (C) 2001 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

FWIW, the semantic bovinator was something that people were talking
about a while ago and might be interesting in relation to syntax
highlighting. Anyone know any better?

Cheers,

Simon
