I have just bought an Intel QX3 which works nicely
under windows, but it doesn't work under Linux.
xawtv and gqcam both give a corrupted display
and no means to control the lights.
The bootup messages include this:
usb.c: registered new driver cpia
USB CPiA camera found
CPiA Version: 1.33 (2.10)
CPiA PnP-ID: 0813:0001:0106
VP-Version: 1.0 0141
I found your message on this web site
which suggests you have the same microscope and software:

Does it work for you?
