[Gllug] root Desktop settings revert.

I use Win98, but I have managed to install SuSE v8.0.
I have used the configure function to change the KDE desktop settings in
root.  Unfortunately the next time I login as root the settings have
reverted to a wallpaper of "root-logo.png" and a font size of 4; not good
for my blood preasure.  Is there an "rc" file in /etc somewhere that I
should edit?
