Go for a modem with an ethernet port and save the hassles of USB. Your
firewall will then have two nics, one to the modem and the other to your
hub/home network.
I'd suggest the conexant AMX-CA61E available from Dabs (as their own
'dabsvalue' brand) for £66. Quicklinx 17P7WS and they even have them in
stock for once. Or get the four port version (though this would require
firewalling on all the machines) for £75.
Its very easy to set up. If you do go for this then drop a shout back to
the list (or directly) and I'll give you the links I had. You config it
through a browser and need to change about 5 settings to get it working.
