UK Linux Install Day Event

Having problems installing linux?

Users can get assistance with Linux installations
on site, advice on optimum configurations for
specific machines and general fine tuning
for top performance. Installation of SuSE Linux 
8.0 which includes Kernel 2.4 and ReiserFS, 
Mandrake, Debian and Slackware can be installed.

There will be several monitors around so no need 
to bring your own unless you have a particular
favourite. Also there is a network with internet
access (1 mb) to carry out installs over the net.

There is plenty of parking and snacks and 
refreshments will be provided!

O'Reilly have donated some books and cds to give 
away and Suse have provided Suse 8.0 for
installation.

Please back up your data before arrival and 
naturally we can accept no liability for loss
or damage of data and hardware. You will
also need to sign a disclaimer upon arrival.

Also if anyone who wants to help out please do
come along on the day.

Park. Unit 48 is on top of the Security Office.

DIRECTIONS:

- On Foot from Park Royal Station (<10 mins walk)

Walk out of the station and take a right. Walk down
the footpath in the opposite direction to oncoming 
traffic on the A40. You will pass Burger King on
your right. Keep walking till you pass a petrol 
station on your right. You will then see a purple
building on your right and a Renault car dealership.
Take the right after the purple building and 
before the Renault dealership. This is Concord Road.

At the end of Concord Road is an estate called Westwood
Park. Unit 48 is on top of the Security Office.

- Car from central london.

Travelling down the A40 from central london. You will
come up to Park Royal (Acton). You will pass a building
with the sign Venture displayed on it. After this sign
you will see a set of traffic lights. You need to take
the left turn directly after the traffic lights and
carry on down the slip road which runs parallel to the
A40. You will pass Office world and the Renault 
dealership on your left. After the Renault dealership
you need to take the left onto Concord Road.

At the end of Concord Road is an estate called Westwood
Park. Unit 48 is on top of the Security Office.

- Car from west london.

Travelling down the A40 towards central london. You pass
Hanger lane under the underpass. Afterwards you will 
pass a BP petrol station on your left and you will
see traffic lights in front of you. Before the
traffic lights is a slip road on the left that brings
you to the side of the lights so you can cross over 
to the otherside of the A40. When you cross over
do not get back onto the A40 heading the otherway
but cross over as if you were leaving the A40 since 
there is a slip road on the other side. Come off onto 
the slip road and head on past Office world and
the Renault dealership. After the dealership take
a left onto Concord Road.
