Depends on the context in which you judge them. They've been just as
ready to play the corporate bully boy as MS - only not so good at it.
And their total control and lock-on of their customers allowed them to
serve up an OS that, despite its well designed UI, became increasingly
obsolete, technically. No pre-emptive multi-tasking, no memory
protection - on a par with Windows 3.0 in many ways.
The sad thing is that Jobs, having restored the technical edge, has
thrown out the UI baby.
