Presumably he's referring to the crufty abortions that inexperienced
programmers write. Of course, he forgets to mention that they do that
in any language. Perl's liberal use of punctuation and the ability
to use shortcuts such as default variables mean that they can inflict
worse pain in perl than in most other languages. But that doesn't
matter. PEBCAK.
