Hello Mark,

Have you thought about asking the Europeans for help.
The multiXray software is Linux only - http://www.rapp-informatik.de/
LinuDent - http://linudent.sourceforge.net/
VisiDent - http://www.bdv.com/index.htm. Sorry this one is German only but 
supports the whole of German dental health care. Saw it in action and handles 
images, info and general billing/notes etc.,
