AH a fellow sufferer, GW is a tad short on the nice touches like individually marked  as quoted lines. It just does this everything after this line

 is a quote, might be good for VERY short mails but for longer discussions with lots of points it is totall inadequate.

Ah, Groupwise ;-)

Lots of manual text editing and your mails can look like this.... I've
got lots of gripes about Groupwise, such as how [left parenthesis]c gets
metamorphosed into a copyright symbol - frustrating if you want to start
a parenthetical statement with a word beginning with c and not being
able to specify a default reply-to address (when sending a quick
personal email just before going home and wanting the reply in a
location I can get to before coming back).

I've even been known to paste the text into vim for editing and then
pasting it back into GW for sending. Necessity is the mother of
invention.... ;-)
