I've threatened to do exactly this when people bring up this topic on
other lists. Which is more inconvenient; the spam? or the restrictive
measures that still fail to stop the spam? I've even considered doing it
here on gllug anyway just because the official archives aren't google
indexable thanks to the
<meta NAME="robots" CONTENT="noindex,follow">
in http://list.ftech.net/pipermail/gllug/
If people are worried about spam they should use a presentation email
address for public posts, a number of people seem to use
gllug at theirdomain.com, you could also use a fake address and read via your
subscription address for more anonymity.
