I had a lot of those types of problems with the earlier releases.

I get no new message alerts but the great problem for me is speed. It
does not cache messages between sessions, only the headers and
frequently it loses track of the message headers during a session and
needs to reload the whole lot again. It is significantly slower than
Mozilla mail, which is still much slower than Netscape 4.7x.

In addition the name / email autocomplete is much slower than Mozilla
(only 700 addresses in local address book)

Mozilla now does a very good job caching messages.

I am running Evolution 1.08 which arrives with RH8, even on a very fast
network.

It is not ready for me yet.

Kind regards
Xander
