ok. only thing I didn't put on was libtiff because I wasn't interested in this. I also assume I don't need "svgalib" as I was going to run it under X, correct me if I'm wrong. seg-faults in different places, that's the weird thing it seems random.  I have to go out now, will have another look when I get back in later.
