Sorry Jim. If you have no in-house people to do good cabling,
my honest advice is to get in a cabling company, and make sure
that they test and certify each socket.
I really do think Peter here would be very well served by getting in
touch with one of the Linux consulting firms on the list.
Such firm could then quote for the Linux based system based on postgres,
plus the physical networking components - the switches and the wiring.
Sorry if I'm sounding nannyish - but to me Peter will really benefit
from a local Linux firm giving him help.
