I got this response from Neil, re. the Access Runner ADSL modem.

I have a Conexant AccessRunner PCI ADSL modem. The following is how it is
reported by Windows' System Information:

Service Name CnxTgN
IP Address Not Available
IP Subnet Not Available
Default IP Gateway Not Available
DHCP Enabled No
DHCP Server Not Available
DHCP Lease Expires Not Available
DHCP Lease Obtained Not Available
MAC Address Not Available
Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\cnxtgn.sys (4.1.2.099.002 (2301), 104.30
KB (106,801 bytes), 25/01/2003 11:48)

The modem comes with Linux drivers for both Redhat 6.2 & 7.1, but I found it
impossible to set up initially on my first Linux distro (8.1). I even tried
going backwards to 7.1 so that I could go through the instructions "to the
letter", but I came across an error which brought me to a grinding halt!

I was hoping that this latest version of Redhat might pick it up
automatically (it did with my scanner which previously I couldn't set up),
but no luck :-(

It's frustrating because if I can get online through Linux, then I can leave
my Windows OS for a good few weeks and really get into learning about
Linux - not like at the moment, chopping and changing between the two!
