They usually are.

The Best Tip Ever for finding out what hardware is:

Look for the FCC-ID on the part - this will be a string like
  FCC-ID:QWN123ABCDEF 

Now, the three letters after the : are the vendor id. Search at 

http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/

This will give you the manufacturer - the full code will give you the
device.

This is particularly useful for OEM gear, where the nominal vendor has
*nothing* to do with the people that make the hardware.
